On January 20th, Worthington Chamber Orchestra will host a Community Connect Series event in anticipation of the February 4th Benedicta Enrile Masterworks concert, Woven Stories: American Stories of Hope. The concert will highlight themes in the African American experience and the power of hope in overcoming oppression and challenges.  At St. John AME Church on January 20th, WCO will partner with the Worthington Historical Society to share Worthington’s own African American history. The program will explore Worthington’s past, present, and future relationships with our African American neighbors.  Guest Artists at the event will include:  * Dr. Mark Lomax, II, composer  * UCelli: The Columbus Cello Quartet  * Cynthia Lockhart, fiber artist  The program will consist of:  * A historical reflection by Kate LaLonde, Executive Director of Worthington Historical Society  * A panel discussion led by Jennifer Hambrick, WOSU Classical 101 Midday Host  * Meet and Greet with guest composer Dr. Mark Lomax, II  * Meet and Greet with guest fiber artist Cynthia Lockhart and Purchase Raffle Tickets to win her artwork: https://www.worthingtonchamberorchestra.com/product-page/raffle-tickets-for-cynthia-lockhart-fiber-art  * Performances by guest artists  * Question and Answer session
