The Gary Smith Worthington Classic

The Gary Smith Worthington Classic is a 5-Mile Run/3-Mile Walk/2-mile Elementary Kids’ race along neighborhood streets, the Olentangy Bike Path, and the Thomas Worthington High School track.

It honors the memory of Gary Smith, a Worthington track and cross country coach and English teacher. During his 31-year career, he coached state championship teams and athletes but was respected most of all for his integrity and compassionate commitment to the well being of all his athletes and students.
Proceeds from the race provide scholarships for Worthington students and donations to organizations that support ill or disabled children.
