Ice Rink Highlights 2016 Holiday Open House Schedule
 
WORTHINGTON, Ohio (November 17, 2015) – The Old Worthington Partnership (the Partnership), which serves to advance the Old Worthington experience, today revealed the schedule of activities for the November 29 Holiday Open House. The annual Worthington tradition will take place from noon until 5 p.m. and is free of charge. The City of Worthington tree illumination ceremony will take place following the event at 5:30 p.m.
 
Perhaps the most notable addition to the Holiday Open House is an “Iceless Ice Rink” made of synthetic plastic polymer that resembles the same experience of skating on ice. The rink, which is co-sponsored by The Candle Lab, will occupy the parking lot at the corner of High Street and New England Avenue. It will be open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is free with a donation to the Worthington Resource Pantry.
 
Other enhancements to the event include:

“It’s a Wonderful Window” showcase pairing 23 storefronts with 28 charities competing for the best holiday window display decorations. Windows will be revealed at the start of the Holiday Open House. Shoppers may vote for their favorite displays via monetary donations (minimum of $1) made at each participating store. The contest will run through December 26. All donations will go directly to the corresponding charity.
Coloring contest for elementary school children; prizes awarded to students in K-2 and 3-6 grade levels.
A second carriage for attendees to ride throughout Old Worthington

 
Pictures with Santa Claus will take place in front of the Worthington Inn from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Another Worthington holiday tradition – Illuminated Shopping sponsored by the Old Worthington Partnership – will take place December 3 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Old Worthington will be illuminated with luminaries, and merchants will stay open late for attendees.
 
About the Old Worthington Partnership
The Old Worthington Partnership is a volunteer organization led by a Board of Directors focusing its efforts in three key areas: collaboration, engagement and sustainability. The Partnership collaborates with many of the other organizations that care about the wellbeing of Old Worthington in order to support residents, businesses and visitors.
