The annual Worthington tradition will take place from noon until 5 p.m. and is free of charge. The City of Worthington tree illumination ceremony will take place following the event at 5:30 p.m. Perhaps the most notable addition to the Holiday Open House is an “Iceless Ice Rink” made of s ynthetic plastic polymer that resembles the same experience of skating on ice. The rink\, which is co-sponsored by The Candle Lab\, will occupy the parking lot at the corner of High Street and New England Avenue. It will b e open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is free with a donation to the Worthingt on Resource Pantry. Other enhancements to the event include: “It’s a W onderful Window” showcase pairing 23 storefronts with 28 charities compe ting for the best holiday window display decorations. Windows will be reve aled at the start of the Holiday Open House. Shoppers may vote for their f avorite displays via monetary donations (minimum of $1) made at each parti cipating store. The contest will run through December 26. All donations wi ll go directly to the corresponding charity. Coloring contest for elementa ry school children\; prizes awarded to students in K-2 and 3-6 grade level s.
