Is a "virtual office" the creative solution for YOUR home business?


A virtual office is an increasingly popular and creative way for businesses to grow, serve clients in a variety of locations, and focus talents on work, rather than commuting. Going "virtual" by harnessing the power of the Internet also can help business owners save cash, increase profits and expand their reach.
Fellow SOHO participant and former Chamber trustee Peter Macrae will share his favorable experiences in developing a virtual office that have broadened his success, international scope and personal enjoyment of  Macrae ARCHitecture LLC, his architectural firm.
About the presenter:


Peter S. Macrae, AIA, has 38 years of experience in architectural design, project management and business development and is registered as an architect in 36 states. His focus is on the acquisition and design of strategically planned, environmental design projects, both nationally and internationally. He is principal of Macrae ARCHitecture, LLC and also acts as the consulting principal for individual projects. Recently, Peter has led the design and development of several large-scale, mixed-use masterplans in several states.
His projects have won numerous national design awards and have been published in a variety of national and international publications. Peter is a favored speaker at trade show conferences and he has recently taught a seminar for graduate architecture students at Georgia Tech. Peter currently serves on several nonprofit boards and also serves on the Ohio Department of Education’s curriculum evaluation board. Peter recently taught environmental branding at The Ohio State University in the Knowlton School of Architecture to Masters of Architecture candidates.
If you work in a home office or "wear all the hats" at a small office with five or fewer employees, the Chamber's Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) subgroup is for you. 
At each monthly "brown bag lunch" style meeting, members exchange best practices and business leads and learn from experts about topics that affect small business owners and home-based businesses, including legal, tax, organizational, IT and marketing/promotion issues.

Business and Associate Members of the Chamber are eligible to join SOHO. SOHO members pay a subgroup participation fee of $30 per year, in addition to their regular Chamber dues. A prospective SOHO group member may attend the meeting free of charge for a one-month period and then may choose sign up for the group with the $30 annual fee.

Select the member category if you are already a paid member of SOHO; the "Join SOHO and attend" category if you are joining the group for the coming year and attending this event; or the "Non-member/Guest" fee to attend this meeting free of charge as a prospective member (you may attend once as a guest).
