Five Tips for the Solo SOHO
Mike Clevenger, founder of Think Outside the Blah © , will focus on "Leading when you’re all alone – five things to do every day to stay focused and motivated."
It has been said that the hardest person to lead is yourself. Because the success of your Small Office/Home Office business often depends on you alone, it is extremely important that you establish some daily practices to keep you on track.

Mike Clevenger relates the five daily leadership lessons he uses to do this in his own small businesses, a CPA firm and a business coaching practice. Inspired by the writings and coaching strategies of John Maxwell, Mike will cover the lessons of knowing yourself, knowing others, assuming an attitude of service, practicing the Golden Rule and leading with solid values. Don't miss this motivational conversation-starter. (Bring your questions and your own tips for staying on track.)
About the speaker:
Using creativity to solve leadership problems, Chamber member Mike Clevenger teaches people and organizations to “Think Outside the Blah © .” As a founding partner of the John Maxwell Team of leadership coaches, trainers and speakers, he encourages imaginative solutions in organizations that sometimes get stuck maintaining the way they do things. Mike also owns and operates a CPA firm, assisting businesses and nonprofits with their accounting, tax and business planning needs. He is an active member of the New England Lodge #4 of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio, and a trustee of the Convention & Visitors Bureau of Worthington.

If you work in a home office or "wear all the hats" at a small office with five or fewer employees, the Chamber's Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) subgroup is for you.  At each monthly "brown bag lunch" style meeting, members exchange best practices and business leads and learn from experts about topics that affect small business owners and home-based businesses, including legal, tax, organizational, IT and marketing/promotion issues.
Business and Associate Members of the Chamber are eligible to join SOHO. SOHO members pay a subgroup participation fee of $30 per year, in addition to their regular Chamber dues. A prospective SOHO member may attend the meeting free of charge for a one-month period and then may choose sign up for the group with the $30 annual fee.
Registration is REQUIRED. To register, click on REGISTER NOW on the screen at right. Select the member category if you are already a paid member of SOHO; the "Join SOHO and attend" category if you are joining the group for the coming year and attending this event; or the "Non-member/Guest" fee to attend this meeting free of charge as a prospective member (you may attend once as a guest).
