Join us on Groundhog Day, Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Brookside Golf & Country Club, for the Chamber's annual Groundhog Day Business Forecast, part of the Eggs & Issues breakfast series.

Learn about insight2050 ...

a collaborative initiative among MORPC, Columbus 2020, the Urban Land Initiative Columbus and a stakeholder committee consisting of public and private partners. The initiative aims to help Central Ohio communities proactively plan for development and population growth over the next 30+ years that are expected to be dramatically different from the past. The first phase of insight2050 is a regional analysis that provides data for decision makers to understand the impact of future land use policies on specific factors influencing the region’s quality of life.

Check-in and breakfast buffet: 7:00 - 7:30 a.m. (Please arrive no later than 7:15 to make sure you have enough time to fill your plate from the buffet and find a seat so the program can begin, uninterrupted, at 7:30 a.m.) Arriving at 7 a.m. will allow you time to visit sponsor displays and network with others, as well.

Invoices will be sent, and payment expected, for reservations made but not honored or canceled by the deadline. To avoid payment obligation, cancellations must be made by Jan. 28.
Non-chamber members must pay prior to the event. Credit card payment is available through online registration.
About our speaker: As MORPC’s executive director, William Murdock, AICP, is responsible for the overall management of the agency including structure, personnel, finance and the implementation of policies and programs. He also represents MORPC before a variety of government, business and stakeholder organizations across the region, state and nation.
Murdock brings knowledge and expertise in the areas of community services, urban planning and redevelopment, which is critical as MORPC continues to grow and adapt to the changing needs of the region. His focus on strengthening MORPC’s core services, partnered with his experience, innovative spirit and integrity, will amplify the voices of MORPC members and take their work to the next level.
Murdock most recently served as the chief of community services at the Ohio Development Services Agency where he led the state’s community programs, incentives and investments with an emphasis on redevelopment, energy efficiency, infrastructure and services to individuals and communities in need. He also had previously served as director of urban development for the Ohio Department of Development focused on key statewide programs for brownfield redevelopment and historic preservation.
From 2005 to 2008, Murdock was deputy director of planning and development for the city of Gahanna, where he led economic development incentives, urban planning, building and zoning services, code enforcement, and redevelopment projects for the city. Prior to his role as deputy director, Murdock served as a senior planner for the city of Gahanna.
Murdock, a Columbus native, received multiple degrees from The Ohio State University, including a B.S. in economics, a B.A. in political science, a M.S. in parks, recreation and tourism administration, and a Master of City & Regional Planning (M.C.R.P.). He also is certified planner through the American Institute of Certified Planners, and holds certification from the National Development Council (NDC) as an Economic Development Financial Professional.
A member of the American Planning Association, the National Brownfields Association and the Urban Land Institute, Murdock has presented at a number of local, regional and national conferences and events. He is currently president of the Ohio State University Knowlton School of Architecture Alumni Association, president of the Neil-Eighth-Cannon-King Neighborhood Organization, and an appointed member of the Ohio Lake Erie Commission.
