Meet some "top cops" in Worthington -- women who guard our safety and promote the work of our local police force.

Our speakers include Lt. Jennifer M. Wuertz of the Patrol Operations Division, and Ofc. Tammy Floyd, community relations officer and organizer of the Citizen's Police Academy.



Jennifer has been with the division since 1993 when she was hired as a communications technician. She attended the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy and became a police officer in 1997. Since then Jennifer has held various positions within the division including field training officer, bicycle officer, agency fitness coordinator and detective. She was promoted to patrol sergeant in 2004 and in 2013 was appointed to lieutenant overseeing the patrol operations.
Jennifer holds a bachelor of arts degree in criminology from the Ohio State University and a master of science degree in criminal justice from Tiffin University. She is a graduate of the Northwestern School of Staff and Command, and the Police Executive Leadership College.

Ofc. Tammy Floyd is the community service officer and coordinates the Citizens Police Academy. The Community Services Officer (CSO) is a position dedicated to improving and addressing community issues as they relate to public safety within the City of Worthington.  The CSO serves as the agency’s liaison with all schools within the City of Worthington and works with the criminal investigative unit in addressing juvenile related crime issues.  The CSO also coordinates crime prevention efforts with residents and the business community. 
Participants in the annual Citizens Police Academy have a fun and educational experience -- the opportunity to observe what it is like to be a law enforcement officer and gather an understanding of the necessary tools and information needed to perform the job.  The seven-week course is taught by sworn officers and provides real-life scenarios requiring split decision-making efforts. 
Cost: $22/Chamber members; $27/non-members (Fee must be paid at time of registration). Support our scholarship fund by making announcements ($5/member; $10/guest) and participating in door prize drawings ($1/member/guest).
