Reception for Dorothy Gill Barnes, Generations: Marks in Time

This is the reception for the inaugural exhibition at the Peggy R. McConnell Art Center of Worthington, and the artist will be in attendance. The exhibition runs Oct. 22 through Dec. 27. Dorothy Gill Barnes, an internationally acclaimed artist and long-time Worthington resident, will be the first artist to present in the main gallery at the McConnell Arts Center. The material used in the new work, created specifically for this exhibition, has been harvested from trees found damaged by storms or removed due to safety concerns in Worthington. Two new installations, "Cottonwood" and "Sycamore," are formed from trees which stood for over 100 years along the banks of the Olentangy River.
