BAH: 50th Anniversary After-Hours Celebration

"Hop" over to The Conference Center at NorthPointe next Tuesday, Oct. 21, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., to help the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce celebrate our organization’s 50th anniversary. You're invited to “party like it’s 1958,” the year the present-day Chamber was founded by a group of Worthington businessmen. (Click here for history .)


Fifties-themed decor, music, food and drink, server costumes and other touches will set the stage for our celebration. Highlights of the event:



From 5:30 to 7 p.m., partygoers will network and mingle in typical Business After Hours fashion amid sock-hop and soda fountain-inspired food and beverage displays on NorthPointe’s patio and in the Edgewater Room.  


From 7 to 7:30 p.m., guests will gather in the Edgewater Room to view Chamber photos and memorabilia, review historical milestones, and participate in games and door prize drawings with a “50” focus, including 50 percent off next year's membership dues; a $50 ticket to Reds, Whites & Desserts; and $50 gift certificates to area businesses. Rounding out the anniversary event, from 7:30 to 8 p.m., partygoers may enjoy optional dancing and hula hoop contests to Fifties tunes. (Fifties costumes optional.)



In honor of our 50-year anniversary, the Chamber also will extend a special membership offer to area businesses who join the organization from Oct. 21-Oct. 23. Businesses who purchase memberships on those three days will receive $50 off annual membership dues. Application can be made online or by calling 888-3040.


Throughout the coming year, the Chamber will be commemorating our anniversary in publications and additional activities, including a membership drive to recruit 50 new members; sharing of 50 memorable moments from Chamber history and 50 of the best benefits of Chamber membership; and a profile of 50 selected Chamber member businesses.


Members may attend free of charge. Guests are welcome at $20 per person (with the guest fee refunded to those who join the organization).
