Staff Appreciation Luncheon

Say thanks to your staff at the Chamber's annual Staff Appreciation Luncheon on Tuesday, April 22, presented by Mass Appeal Dining Services at The Jessing Center on the campus of Pontifical College Josephinum, 7625 N. High St. Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. The luncheon and program will last from noon to 1:30 p.m.


With a nod to Earth Day (also on April 22), this year's Staff Appreciation event has a "green" theme. The Chamber has planned a special event to help you honor your key staff members by providing a delicious lunch, an entertaining and motivating program – and a gift created especially for staff guests by Connells Maple Lee Flowers & Gifts.


Keeping Office Relationships "Green"


Our keynote speaker, Chamber member Marie Carter Pollack, vice president of Sensational Speakers, will entertain us and help us explore "Three Ways to Keep Office Relationships 'Green,'" with her special brand of humor, energy and insight. An "attitude adjuster" for the often stress-filled corporate world, Marie has more than 25 years of experience inspiring, encouraging and entertaining audiences, including past Chamber events, corporate/public venues at IBM, Limited Brands, MCI, and the state of Ohio. She also works as a public speaking instructor, consultant, trainer, television personality, Stephen Ministry leader and mistress of ceremonies for events. She also is a member of the National Speakers Association and the Ohio Speakers Forum. Recently she earned the distinction as a "Certified Laughter Leader." She is the author of a book, "Life is a Journey to Be Enjoyed: Stories About Living, Advice About Life."


Keeping the Office "Green"


In recognition of Earth Day, a representative of Sustainable Worthington will offer a few quick tips on some "green" practices you can undertake at your office. Sustainable Worthington, a new Chamber member, is a grassroots organization working on a number of initiatives to make Worthington more sustainable. Sustainability is the ability to provide for the needs of the world's current population without damaging the ability of future generations to provide for themselves. Spending and investing locally by supporting
locally owned businesses is an example of a sustainable practice.


In addition to the gift sponsor, Connells Maple Lee Flowers & Gifts, event sponsors committed at this time include Career Choices Unlimited, Minuteman Press - Westerville, MT Business Technologies and The Rite Bite Center for Nutrition and Wellness. Sponsors will have information tables at the event, offer introductions about their products and services, and present door prizes. and their guests and $30 for non-members and their guests.
