Mallory\, esq. is a trusted advisor and resource to g overnmental bodies\, private entities\, Community Development Financial In stitutions and developers of all sizes. As the Managing Director of Mallor y Economic Development Advisors\, Lark focuses her services on the issues related to multifamily housing and community development. A formal educati on in accounting and law and 20 years of extensive experience in large law firms provides the founding for her effectiveness in consulting. Ms. Mall ory serves on the Advisory Committee on Affordable\, Equitable and Sustain able Housing at the Federal Housing Finance Agency and the boards of direc tors of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium\, and River South Authority. She is a past board member of the YWCA Endowment Board\, Women for Economic and L eadership Development and\, before serving as general counsel\, the Afford able Housing Trust for Columbus and Franklin County where she chaired the governance committee and was a member of the finance committee. Prior to s tarting her own firm\, Ms. Mallory served as the President and CEO of The Affordable Housing Trust for Columbus and Franklin County\, an organizatio n that provides low interest rate loans to developers of affordable housin g. At the Affordable Housing Trust\, Ms. Mallory was responsible for all a spects of the organization’s mission\, including its private investment funds and its real estate loan portfolio. The loan portfolio included cons truction loans\, traditional single property loans and structured financin g related to both 4% and 9% tax credits and bond transactions. Ms. Mallory was the guiding force in the implementation of the Emerging Developers Ac celerator Program. She became President and CEO after serving as General C ounsel for The Affordable Housing Trust. It was Lark’s impressive legal career in prestigious law firms that qualified her to serve as general cou nsel. Prior to joining The Affordable Housing Trust\, she was a partner wi th Frost Brown Todd\, a 500- attorney law firm with an eight state footpri nt. While at the firm\, Ms. Mallory focused her practice on advising tax e xempt organizations\, businesses\, as well as individuals and business own ers\, in the core areas of corporate and business law\, financing\, commer cial real estate\, and tax planning. She also counseled clients regarding entity selection\, formation and governance\; capitalization and financing \, including loan documentation and private equity\; and compliance with t he Internal Revenue Code. Ms. Mallory is actively involved in the improvem ent of the Central Ohio Community. She served as the cochair for Equitable Transit Oriented Development Committee\, City of Columbus Mayor’s Regio nal Housing Coalition (one of three conveners)\, Columbus and Franklin Cou nty Continuum of Care (Board of Directors\, Vice Chair) and PNC Southern/C entral Ohio Advisory Council.
