 list Join us for an informal introspection in the life of a photojournalis
 t as he shares his journey through the affects of PTSD. Ed Zirkle has been
  a photojournalist for over 50 years. Early in his career\, he signed up f
 or the Army during the Vietnam War era and ended up being a criminal inves
 tigation photographer at Ft Bragg. Ed never realized what effect this had 
 on him until several years ago leading to his diagnosis of PTSD. Ed will s
 hare how his use of photography became a form of therapy without his reali
 zation\, how relationships are better than pills\, and how his rescue dog 
 Lola all brought him to where he is today. He is boots on the ground still
  trying to figure out what works\, what doesn’t\, and getting closer to 
 accepting the life he is in. Photojournalism isn’t something Ed does\, i
 t’s something he lives. Ed says this has been a thrilling ride to the to
 p of the hill and an ugly view from the valley. Come hear his story about 
 what brought him to where he is today. About Ed Zirkle World traveler\, st
 oryteller\, and documentarian are a few of the words that describe Ed Zirk
 le. His professional career began as an intern at the Louisville Courier J
 ournal and then at the Evansville Courier & Press. Ed went on to work full
  time as a photojournalist at the Mansfield News Journal. Ed has worked at
  The Ohio State University as an IT manager which helped him transition fr
 om film to digital photography. His love of photojournalism also thrived\,
  covering national events such as presidential elections\, Kentucky Derby\
 , Indy 500\, PGA Golf\, Rose Parade\, and the Rose Bowl. In addition to th
 is work\, Ed has taught photography at The Ohio State University and Colum
 bus State Community College. He also served as Education Chairman for the 
 annual Ohio News Photographers Association conference. Ed opened the first
  photography gallery in Columbus\, Ohio and worked on the revival of a 193
 0 Paramount movie theater in Mansfield\, Ohio. He worked with the Associat
 ed Press Wire Service\, United Press International Wire Service\, and was 
 represented by Woodfin Camp and Associates\, SIPA France\, and Image Broke
 rs. Ed’s a proud member of TriVillage Rotary\, the National Press Photog
 raphers Association\, Ohio News Photographers Association\, Nikon Professi
 onal Services. With many awards for his photography from the National Pres
 s Photographers Association and the Ohio News Photographers Association\, 
 photojournalism isn’t something Ed does\, it’s something he lives. Tic
