 . Founded in 1997\, Partners for Community and Character is an organizatio
 n dedicated to the promotion of positive character traits in our community
 . The organization strives to keep key character traits in the hearts and 
 minds of the community and to pass on these traits to future generations. 
 PCC involves every sector of the community -- students in our school distr
 ict\, grandparents\, the faith community and businesses\, among others -- 
 in focusing on character. When the organization was founded\, more than 1\
 ,000 community members at 37 dialog sessions prioritized the following cha
 racter traits that become "Words of the Month" promoted throughout the com
 munity: Tolerance Honesty Diligence Commitment Trustworthiness Moral Coura
 ge Spirituality Integrity Respect Responsibility Self-Discipline Compassio
 n You'll hear updates from PCC volunteer leaders about the work of the org
 anization and how you can get involved in promoting citizenship and charac
 ter in your business and your community. Then\, join us in celebrating the
  next winner of the Business of Character Award\, an honor conferred by th
 e Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce and PCC to a local business that ex
 emplifies one or more of the character traits. The award will be presented
  to RE/MAX Premier Choice and owner Charlotte Van Steyn. Finally\, settle 
 in for primer on Business Ethics from a local business consultant and expe
 rt on the topic. Ethics are integral to the decision making of organizatio
 ns\, as we will learn from Larry Mead of Worthington Partners Management C
 onsulting. Larry leads a management consulting firm\, Worthington Partners
 . Ltd.\, specializing in customized financial\, strategic planning\, and a
 dvisory services to Fortune 1000 companies. His experience includes 30 yea
 rs of multiple executive management roles at Sterling Commerce Corporation
 \, Bank One Corp. and Philip Morris\, including mergers and acquisitions\,
  investment banking\, finance\, sales\, operations and technology. Prior t
 o his business career\, he was a school district administrator in Lake Gen
 eva\, Wisconsin. He holds a BA degree in Political Science from Lawrence U
 niversity\, an MBA in finance and an MS in educational administration from
  the University of Wisconsin.An active investor in emerging technology bus
 inesses\, Larry is a founding member of the Ohio Tech Angel Fund and Inves
 tment Screening Committee member and advisor to TechColumbus\, a technolog
 y incubator enterprise funded by the Ohio Department of Development. Among
  other roles\, Larry has been an advisor to the OSU Fisher College of Busi
 ness on ethics\, risk management and capital formation. Event Cost: $18 pe
