DESCRIPTION:Chamber members and the public are invited to participate in a 
 Community Shred & E-Waste Drop-Off Day on Tuesday\, April 18\, from 12:30 
 to 4 p.m. in the parking lot at Schreiner Ace Hardware\, 926 N. High St. S
 hred Day offers an opportunity for safe disposal of both sensitive documen
 ts and used electronic devices. Identity theft has become one of the faste
 st growing crimes in the United States. One of the most effective ways to 
 protect against identity theft is to shred sensitive financial and persona
 l information. As a "cost" for the services\, donations will be accepted f
 or Chamber-sponsored scholarships. Both cash and check donations (made pay
 able to WACC) will be accepted. Documents Royal Document Destruction\, a c
 ertified AAA National Association of Information Destruction (NAID®) prov
 ider and a recipient of the Business First “Fast Fifty” award.\, will 
 conduct mobile shredding at the event. Businesses and residents can clear 
 out old tax files or sensitive information\, protect against identify thef
 t\, help the environment and support Chamber-sponsored scholarships by dro
 pping off these types of documents: Legal documents Receipts Tax and medic
 al records Bank statements and old checks Credit card statements Financial
  records Insurance documents Any other sensitive paper documents Experienc
 ed professionals from Royal Document Destruction will shred sensitive docu
 ments on-site at a mobile shred truck\, for your immediate inspection. Eac
 h box should be a size that a person of average strength can lift and carr
 y. To prevent sensitive documents from spilling out and blowing away\, ope
 n boxes or bags are not accepted. According to the EPA\, to make 1 ton of 
 paper using recycled fiber saves 17 trees\, 3.3 cubic yards of landfill sp
 ace\, 360 gallons of water\, 100 gallons of gasoline\, 60 pounds of air po
