DESCRIPTION:The finals event for this local talent contest is scheduled yea
 rly at The Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center on the second Saturday in Octobe
 r. This year's date is Oct. 11\, 2014\, starting at 6:30 p.m. The first-pl
 ace prize is $3\,000\; second-place prize is $2\,000\; and third-place pri
 ze is $1\,000! Tryouts will be held in September at the MAC. Contestants m
 ust be high school age or above and songs must be family friendly\, rated 
 G. There is no charge to contestants for tryout. Tickets to events for vis
 itors are $10 and can be purchased online or at the door. (Children 13 and
  under are free if seats are available.) All ticket proceeds go to the Ess
 ential Tremor Foundation. Founding corporate sponsors are Worthingtn Realt
 y and Oatts Music in cooperation with The Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center.
