nter : Bizwatch is an integrated paid search advertising\, SEO and social
media performance monitoring and monthly reporting platform\; in simple wo
rds\, the company provides automated SEO & Pay-Per-Click (PPC) audits and
monthly/Weekly and bi-Weekly SEO & PPC reports. CEO & Founder Laura Thieme
has 17 years of experience in the search marketing industry. Thieme has s
poken at more than 40 national and international search marketing conferen
ces on search marketing analytics\, keyword conversion analytics\, and dat
abase-driven SEO tactics. Thieme founded Bizresearch in 1997\, as a search
marketing agency. She grew the company to nearly $1M in sales and 12 empl
oyees. In 2007\, she teamed up with some colleagues in the search marketin
g industry\, and decided to improve upon her existing software platform\,
called Bizwatch. Thieme knew that a need existed for PPC\, SEO\, Google An
alytics data to be integrated\, in one console\, and easier to use. Thieme
used to have five employees who worked on monthly reporting\, and saw tha
t reporting was becoming a large part of what they did. She saw the effect
s that monthly reporting had on creatives\, savvy account managers\, and d
etermined a better platform was necessary. Thieme was named to the Top 100
Most Influential Marketers in 2009\, by industry colleagues. In 2010\, Th
ieme separated the agency from the product\, and created a second company\
, SMI Analytics DBA Bizwatch. Thieme sought and was awarded pre-seed fundi
ng in January\, 2012. Thieme continues to raise money through accredited i
nvestors\, and reputable angel groups\, and spends about 25% of her time w
orking on raising money. She has earned her CEO stripes in the past year\,
learning perhaps far more than she wished she knew\, about the process of
raising money for a software company. Thieme hopes to be able to write a
book about it one day\, so that she can share what she has learned with ot
her entrepreneurs who have balanced bootstrapping to fundraising as part o
f their day jobs\, in addition to balancing running the business\, and cre
ating the ideas that give cause to run a business. Thieme acts as the visi
onary for the product platform\, and has been the brainchild of the platfo
rm to date\, and will continue to be the product manager and visionary mov
ing forward. Thieme works in a lean start-up environment\, and thus wears
a few other hats including account manager\, sales manager\, marketing man
ager and whatever else is needed. Cost: $22/Chamber members\; $27/non-memb
