 hington Fire Department on Oct. 12\, during National Fire Prevention Week.
  This year's theme is kitchen safety. The activity follows a week-long cel
 ebration of the national observance that includes an Oct. 6 open house at 
 the Worthington Fire Department. Schreiner Ace Hardware will offer First A
 lert smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors on sale for $13.99 thro
 ugh the end of the month\, and will conduct safety demonstrations and fire
