 elicious lunch.The Women's Business Network will host author/business exec
 utive Beth Thomas on May 14 at J. Liu. Beth will present strategies from h
 er book\, Powered by Happy: How to Get and Stay Happy at Work (Boost Perfo
 rmance\, Increase Success\, and Transform Your Workday)\, which features u
 pbeat coaching\, practical advice and proven techniques. It has been calle
 d a "step-by-step\, tip-by-tip strategy for figuring out what gives us joy
  and how to create an environment in which we can find it-all day\, every 
 day\, in any situation\, no matter what challenges we face." As executive 
 vice president/managing director of consulting services for Sequent\, Beth
  is responsible for the overall success of the consulting practice. Sequen
 t provides customized solutions from experienced practitioners in all face
 ts of human resources\, information technology and business process outsou
 rcing. Beth Thomas Beth has 25 years of experience helping organizations t
 hrough major transformations\, such as mergers and acquisitions and organi
 zational change. Prior to joining Sequent\, Beth was the senior vice presi
 dent and head of retail training development and planning at JP Morgan Cha
 se. Before that\, she created and managed the Retailer's Enterprise Learni
 ng Center and the Service Management Practice at Limited Brands. Beth is a
 ctive as a board member and volunteer for numerous community and charitabl
 e organizations. She is a frequent national speaker\, and her professional
  work has been recognized with national awards and in several national-cir
 culating magazines and newsletters. Guests will also meet the two scholars
 hip honorees chosen to receive the annual stipend from the Worthington Are
 a Chamber of Commerce. Learn how Emily Cantrell and Mazie Mandia plan to u
 se their scholarship monies and prepare for their careers. Participate in 
 a raffle for a door prize basket by making a contribution to the scholarsh
 ip fund. Cost: $25/Chamber members\; $35/non-members. Support our scholars
