Hours: Event starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. VISITOR INFORMATION: Market Day\, Worthington's largest one-day festival\, captures the spirit of earlier days when farme rs brought their crops to market. Today artisans gather on the streets of Old Worthington to present a colorful and varied display of quality hand-c rafted goods from jewelry\, pottery and ceramics to beautiful paintings\, decorative clothing and unique wood products. More than 250 exhibitors are expected to display their wares. Other attractions include the Worthingto n Historical Society Flea Market\; the Friends Foundation of Worthington L ibraries Market Day Book Sale\; Farmers Market vendors on the southwest Vi llage Green\; a children's activity area and musical performances. Event p arking is available at Thomas Worthington High School\, 300 W. Dublin-Gran ville Road\, west of Evening Street. A free shuttle service will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The shuttles will travel from the high school to parking lot of The Worthington Inn and back\, and from the high school to the Gris wold Center and back. Limited parking is also available at the Worthington United Methodist Church via Hartford Street\, and at the Worthington Muni cipal Parking Lot west of High Street behind The Worthington Inn. The muni cipal parking lot on E. New England Avenue is reserved for handicapped par king only during the event. EXHIBITOR INFORMATION: APPLICATION PROCEDURES There are different application procedures for first-time vendors and vend ors who have participated in the event previously. For those who have part icipated in previous Market Day events\, there is an online application op tion. Since first-time vendors in Old Worthington Market Day must submit t wo clear photographs of their product(s) and one photograph of their displ ay booth for review\, online registration is not available. See instructio ns below. GENERAL VENDOR INFORMATION Application Deadline: Friday\, July 2 7 ($25 late filing fee applies after this date\; fee must accompany late a pplication). Payment: Payment in full must be received with your completed application in the form of a check (made payable to Worthington Area Cham ber of Commerce) or by VISA\, MasterCard\, Discover or American Express. O nline registration using a credit card is available only to vendors who ha ve participated in Old Worthington Market Day in the past. Eligibility Art s & Crafts Vendors: All items sold must be handmade or handcrafted. No com mercial or manufactured products will be accepted. Priority will be given to exhibitors selling their own work. Applicants who did not participate i n the 2011 event must submit two clear photographs of their product(s) and one photograph of their display booth for review. Photos may be emailed t o connect@worthingtonchamber.org . Mailed photos accompanied with a self-a ddressed\, stamped envelope will be returned. Community Groups: Community organizations are encouraged to sell handmade or handcrafted items\; comme rcial products will be accepted only if they relate to the group’s missi on. Community groups that have not participated in Market Day in the past must sell a product or food item. According to the Columbus Health Departm ent\, food items requiring cooking or refrigeration (e.g.\, grilled brats) \, vendors are responsible for obtaining a temporary food license from the Columbus Health Department (fee not included in Market Day application fe e). A permit application and regulations may be downloaded at ttp://tiny.c c/TempFood2012 . Pre-packaged bake sale items are not subject to permit re gulations. First-time participants must mail photos of products and booth with their applications\, or email the images to connect@worthingtonchambe r.org . Food Vendors: Priority will be given to food vendors who offer uni que food offerings that are reasonably priced and will enhance the experie nce of those attending the arts and crafts festival. Farmers' Market Vendors: Current vendors in the Worthington Farmers Market and past participants in Old Worthington Marke t Day will be accepted. The rate schedule below on the Farmers Market Vend or application reflects a 30 percent discount off standard vendor rates. D isposition of Request: A postcard or e-mail message\, indicating whether a request to participate in the event has been accepted or rejected\, will be sent within 10 days of the receipt of an application. Booth Assignment: The assignment of the booth location is based on a number of factors\, in cluding previous booth assignment\, access to electricity\, total space ne eds\, type of craft or artwork and special needs identified by the vendor. Booth set-up on the day of the event starts at 7 a.m.\; tear-down ends by 6 p.m. Notification: Vendor information packets\, including booth number( s)\, will be mailed during the first week of September. Equipment: Partici pants are responsible for providing all of their booth materials and equip ment. Permits and Licenses: The State of Ohio requires a vendor’s licens e for reporting sales tax. Each exhibitor must obtain a vendor’s permit prior to the event. All permits must be available for inspection\, if nece ssary\, on the day of the event. In consideration of this agreement\, the exhibit or expressly waives any and all claims\, legal or otherwise\, for personal injury and/or property damage sustained while on any part of the premise occupied by Old Worthington Market Day\, the Worthington Area Chamber of C ommerce and the City of Worthington\, and representatives held harmless fr om any and all other actions.
