DESCRIPTION:Biking is more than just exercise and transportation: It’s a 
 social activity of connection\, a childhood rite of passage and a first ta
 ste of independence. Transforming biking into an inclusive activity is the
  mission of Lose the Training Wheels™\, and national organization that c
 onducts bike camps for individuals with special needs. This unique approac
 h has enabled thousands of people\, with a myriad of disabilities\, to bec
 ome independent bicycle riders. The Down Syndrome Association of Central O
 hio\, in collaboration with Step By Step Academy\, is hosting Lose the Tra
 ining Wheels June 13-17 at Worthington Kilbourne High School. Each partici
 pant takes part in a one-hour session between the hours of 8:15 am to 4:30
  pm. Lose the Training Wheels is the perfect program for kids at least 8 y
 ears old who are developmentally disabled and want to learn to ride a two 
 wheel bicycle. Requirements Participants should have a minimum inseam of 2
 0"\, be able to walk without an assistive device\, weigh no more than 220 
 lbs and must wear a properly fitted helmet. A parent\, guardian or other c
 aregiver is expected to participate in various ways throughout the week. T
 he registration fee for the week-long course is $125 per participant. Volu
 nteer Anyone interested in volunteering for the event must be at least 16 
 years old and physically able to walk/run alongside the participant as the
 y master the skill of riding a bicycle. Volunteers must be able to commit
