Location: Streets of Downtown Wor thington - primarily along High Street (SR 23)\, from SR 161 south to Sout h Street\, and on the Village Green. Hours: Event starts at 9 a.m. and end s at 4:30 p.m.\; Setup begins at 7 a.m.\; tear down ends at 6 p.m. Market Day\, Worthington's largest one-day festival\, captures the spirit of earl ier days when farmers brought their crops to market. Today artisans gather on the streets of Old Worthington to present a colorful and varied displa y of quality hand-crafted goods from jewelry\, pottery and ceramics to bea utiful paintings\, decorative clothing and unique wood products. More than 250 exhibitors are expected to display their wares. Other attractions inc lude the Worthington Historical Society Flea Market\, a Farmers' Market\, a children's activity area and performing groups. APPLICATION PROCEDURES T here are different application procedures for first-time vendors and vendo rs who have participated in the event previously. For those who have parti cipated in previous Market Day events\, there is an online application opt ion. Since first-time vendors in Old Worthington Market Day must submit tw o clear photographs of their product(s) and one photograph of their displa y booth for review\, online registration is not available. See instruction s below. GENERAL VENDOR INFORMATION Application Deadline: Friday\, July 30 ($25 late filing fee applies after this date\; fee must accompany late ap plication). Payment: Payment in full must be received with your completed application in the form of a check (made payable to Worthington Area Chamb er of Commerce) or by VISA\, MasterCard\, Discover or American Express. On line registration using a credit card is available only to vendors who hav e participated in Old Worthington Market Day in the past. Eligibility Arts & Crafts Vendors : All items sold must be handmade or handcrafted\; no co mmercial products will be accepted\, and priority will be given to artists and craftpersons who are selling their own work. To ensure the event’s quality standards are met\, applicants who did not participate in the 2009 event are required to submit two clear photographs of their product(s) an d one photograph of their display booth for review. Only photos accompanie d with a self-addressed\, stamped envelope will be returned. Community Gro ups : Community organizations are encouraged to sell handmade or handcraft ed items\; commercial products will be accepted only if they relate to the community/school/church group (e.g.\, clothing with the name or logo of a school team or community organization). Community groups that have not pa rticipated in Market Day in the past must sell a product or food item. New requests for information booths or raffles will not be accepted due to sp ace limitations. Food Vendors : Priority will be given to food vendors tha t offer unique food offerings that are reasonably priced and will enhance the experience of those attending the arts and crafts festival. Dispositio n of Request : A postcard or e-mail message\, indicating whether a request to participate in the event has been accepted or rejected\, will be sent within 10 days of the receipt of an application. Booth Assignment : The as signment of the booth location is based on a number of factors\, including previous booth assignment\, access to electricity\, total space needs\, t ype of craft or artwork and special needs identified by the vendor. Notifi cation : Vendor information packets\, including booth number(s)\, will be mailed during the first week of September. Equipment : Participants are re sponsible for providing all of their booth materials and equipment. Vendor 's License : The State of Ohio requires a vendor’s license for reporting sales tax. Each exhibitor must obtain a vendor’s permit prior to the ev ent. All permits must be available for inspection\, if necessary\, on the day of the event. In consideration of this agreement\, the exhibito r expressly waives any and all claims\, legal or otherwise\, for personal injury and/or property damage sustained while on any part of the premise o ccupied by Old Worthington Market Day\, the Worthington Area Chamber of Co mmerce and the City of Worthington\, and representatives held harmless fro m any and all other actions.
