Loca tion: Streets of Downtown Worthington - primarily along High Street (SR 23 )\, from SR 161 south to South Street\, and on the Village Green. Hours: E vent starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m.\; Setup begins at 7 a.m.\; tea r down ends at 6 p.m. Market Day\, Worthington's largest one-day festival\ , captures the spirit of earlier days when farmers brought their crops to market. Today artisans gather on the streets of Old Worthington to present a colorful and varied display of quality hand-crafted goods from jewelry\ , pottery and ceramics to beautiful paintings\, decorative clothing and un ique wood products. More than 250 exhibitors are expected to display their wares. Other attractions include the Worthington Historical Society Flea Market\, a Farmers' Market\, a children's activity area and performing gro ups. Plenty of food will be available throughout the day\, starting at 8 a .m. with a Pancake Breakfast at the Griswold Center. APPLICATION PROCEDURE S There are different application procedures for first-time vendors and ve ndors who have participated in the event previously. For those who have pa rticipated in previous Market Day events\, there is an online application option. Since first-time vendors in Old Worthington Market Day must submit two clear photographs of their product(s) and one photograph of their dis play booth for review\, online registration is not available. See instruct ions below. GENERAL VENDOR INFORMATION Application Deadline: Friday\, July 31 ($25 late filing fee applies after this date\; fee must accompany late application). Payment: Payment in full must be received with your complet ed application in the form of a check (made payable to Worthington Area Ch amber of Commerce) or by VISA\, MasterCard\, Discover or American Express. Online registration using a credit card is available only to vendors who have participated in Old Worthington Market Day in the past. Eligibility A rts & Crafts Vendors : All items sold must be handmade or handcrafted\; no commercial products will be accepted\, and priority will be given to arti sts and craftpersons who are selling their own work. To ensure the event ’s quality standards are met\, applicants who did not participate in the 2008 event are required to submit two clear photographs of their product( s) and one photograph of their display booth for review. Only photos accom panied with a self-addressed\, stamped envelope will be returned. Communit y Groups : Community organizations are encouraged to sell handmade or hand crafted items\; commercial products will be accepted only if they relate t o the community/school/church group (e.g.\, clothing with the name or logo of a school team or community organization). Community groups that have n ot participated in Market Day in the past must sell a product or food item . New requests for information booths or raffles will not be accepted due to space limitations. Food Vendors : Priority will be given to food vendor s that offer unique food offerings that are reasonably priced and will enh ance the experience of those attending the arts and crafts festival. Dispo sition of Request : A postcard or e-mail message\, indicating whether a re quest to participate in the event has been accepted or rejected\, will be sent within 10 days of the receipt of an application. Booth Assignment : T he assignment of the booth location is based on a number of factors\, incl uding previous booth assignment\, access to electricity\, total space need s\, type of craft or artwork and special needs identified by the vendor. N otification : Vendor information packets\, including booth number(s)\, wil l be mailed on Sept. 1. Equipment : Participants are responsible for provi ding all of their booth materials and equipment. Vendor's License : The St ate of Ohio requires a vendor’s license for reporting sales tax. Each ex hibitor must obtain a vendor’s permit prior to the event. All permits mu st be available for inspection\, if necessary\, on the day of the event. In consideration of this agreement\, the exhibitor expressly waives any and all claims\, legal or otherwise\, for personal injury and/or prope rty damage sustained while on any part of the premise occupied by Old Wort hington Market Day\, the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Worthington\, and representatives held harmless from any and all other actions.
