New England Ave.\, Ste. 100 Worthington OH 43085 DESCRIPTION:Event Date: Saturday\, September 29\, 2007\, rain or shine. Loc ation: Streets of Downtown Worthington - primarily along High Street (SR 2 3)\, from SR 161 south to South Street\, and on the Village Green. Hours: Event starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m.\; Setup begins at 7 a.m.\; te ar down ends at 6 p.m. Market Day\, Worthington's largest one-day festival \, captures the spirit of earlier days when farmers brought their crops to market. Today artisans gather on the streets of Old Worthington to presen t a colorful and varied display of quality hand-crafted goods from jewelry \, pottery and ceramics to beautiful paintings\, decorative clothing and u nique wood products. Approximately 225 exhibitors are expected to display their wares. Other attractions include the Worthington Historical Society "Flea Market\, a Farmers' Market\, a children's activity area and performi ng groups. Plenty of food will be available throughout the day\, starting at 8 a.m. with a Pancake Breakfast at the Griswold Center. APPLICATION PRO CEDURES There are different application procedures for first time vendors and vendors who have participated in the event previously. For those who h ave participated in previous Market Day events\, there is an online applic ation option. Since first-time vendors in Old Worthington Market Day must submit two clear photographs of their product(s) and one photograph of the ir display booth for review\, online registration is not availble. See ins tructions below. GENERAL VENDOR INFORMATION Application Deadline: Friday\, August 10 ($15 late filing fee applies after this date). Payment: Payment in full must be received with your completed application in the form of a check (made payable to Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce) or by VISA\, MasterCard\, Discover or American Express. Online registration using a cr edit card is available only to vendors who have participated in Old Worthi ngton Market Day in the past. Eligibility Arts & Crafts Vendors : All item s sold must be handmade or handcrafted\; no commercial products will be ac cepted\, and priority will be given to artists and craftpersons who are se lling their own work. To ensure the event’s quality standards are met\, applicants who did not participate in the 2006 event are required to submi t two clear photographs of their product(s) and one photograph of their di splay booth for review. Only photos accompanied with a self-addressed\, st amped envelope will be returned. Community Groups : Community organization s are encouraged to sell handmade or handcrafted items\; commercial produc ts will be accepted only if they relate to the community/school/church gro up (i.e.\, clothing with the name or logo of a school team or community or ganization). Community groups that have not participated in Market Day in the past must sell a product or food item. New requests for information bo oths or raffles will not be accepted due to space limitations. Food Vendor s : Priority will be given to food vendors that offer unique food offering s that are reasonably priced and will enhance the experience of those atte nding the arts and crafts festival. Disposition of Request : A postcard or e-mail message\, indicating whether a request to participate in the event has been accepted or rejected\, will be sent within 10 days of the receip t of an application. Booth Assignment : The assignment of the booth locati on is based on a number of factors\, including previous booth assignment\, access to electricity\, total space needs\, type of craft or artwork and special needs identified by the vendor. Notification : Vendor information packets\, including booth number(s)\, will be mailed on Friday\, September 14. Equipment : Participants are responsible for providing all of their b ooth materials and equipment. Vendor's License : The State of Ohio require s a vendor’s license for reporting sales tax. Each exhibitor must obtain a vendor’s permit prior to the event. All permits must be available for inspection\, if necessary\, on the day of the event. In consideration of this agreement\, the exh ibitor expressly waives any and all claims\, legal or otherwise\, for pers onal injury and/or property damage sustained while on any part of the prem ise occupied by Old Worthington Market Day\, Inc.\, Worthington Area Chamb er of Commerce and City of Worthington\, and representatives harmless from any and all other actions.
