If you have young children, our city has a broad
spectrum of licensed and certified child care providers
and daycare centers. The Worthington Schools also offer
a number of after-school care programs in the elementary

Choosing Quality Child
Care
-
Count – A smaller group
size is better than a larger one. Observe
the number of children per adult in the
group and make sure it meets Ohio’s minimum
standards.
-
Caregiving – Make sure
the caregiver shares your views about
discipline, health and safety and how
children learn.
-
Content – High quality
programs have a variety of planned
activities to help children develop
physically, mentally and socially. Program
activities should be suitable for the
child’s stage of development and individual
interests.
-
Contract – It is best to
have everything written down so that
parents and caregivers clearly understand
their responsibilities. Ask the caregiver
to show you the written agreement and
program philosophy.
-
Communication – It’s
important to know the best way to
maintain ongoing contact with your
child’s caregiver.
