“When we needed to expand our veterinary hospital and emergency care services, we looked at several sites throughout central Ohio. We chose Worthington because of its strategic location and availability of an office building large enough to accommodate us now and in the future.

We also chose Worthington because the City staff was very supportive and was genuinely interested in working with us through the renovation of our 58,000 square foot facility. We opened our doors in 2003, and we’re delighted that we made Worthington our choice for business.”

Choosing the Right Location for Your Business

Choosing the right location for business is one of the most important decisions executives make. To help make the right choice, consider the following questions:

  1. Is the site located near potential customers?

  2. Where is the competition?

  3. How long have the competitor been in this area, and how strong are they?

  4. Are there potential employees nearby?

  5. Is the area convenient for you?

  6. Is the location convenient and accessible to traffic? New public transportation? Accessible to pedestrians?

  7. What are the occupancy rates in the area?

  8. What is the business climate in the area?

  9. Is the area growing or declining?

  10. What are the market rents for the type of space desired?

  11. What services does the city provide?

  12. Are there zoning regulations or sign restrictions that will affect your business?

  13. How safe is the area?

  14. Are there adequate support services nearby, such as suppliers, printers and distribution centers?

  15. Are there conveniences for you and your staff, such as restaurants, cleaners, and shops?

  16. Is there adequate parking for employees, customers and delivery vehicles?

  17. Will you have to pay extra for parking?

  18. Is the rent affordable?

  19. Is there room for expansion?

  20. Can you get insurance at a reasonable cost?

  21. Are there any building or health codes that would affect your business?

  22. Are there adequate storage facilities on site?

  23. Will you be able to have good visibility? Signs?

  24. Will people be able to find you?

  25. Does the building or location have the amenities that you need?

  26. Have you considered your finish out requirements?

  27. Does the location have adequate writing, including for voice and data communications?

“When we decided to move our bank from Easton to a more visible location, Worthington was my first choice. We are a community bank, and I wanted us to be part of the community where my wife and I are raising our family.

The staff and City Council could not have been more helpful and supportive as we located the perfect site for our new regional headquarters building. We opened our new office building in May 2007, and we are actively involved in the business life of the community."
