Cyndi McAlpine, ActionCOACH business
coach and chair-elect of the Chamber board of trustees,
was among the hosts of a grand opening open house event
on May 22, unveiling the new 7,000-square-foot
ActionCOACH Business Coaching Business Education
Center at 716 Mt. Airyshire Blvd., Suite 100. The event
included tours of the rentable, 40-person business class
training facility, brats and beer, complimentary
shoulder massages, door prizes and an opportunity to
learn more about the services of the Worthington team of

Cynthia Hengeli, left, CEO/president of
Anu Resources Unlimited, has been appointed to
the board of trustees of ARC Industries. Anu Resources
is a professional contract staffing company and
executive search firm specializing in IT, technical and
professional job placements.
Larry France, of
France and Associates Inc., has been appointed
to the Insurance Agent Education Advisory Council of the
Ohio Department of Insurance.

design studio specializing in graphic design and

Staff, clients and volunteers of
Vision & Vocational Services mourn the loss of
Mike Morrison, right, a 30-year veteran of the agency
who was director of vocational rehabilitation services.
Morrison died suddenly on May 6. The agency has
dedicated its first annual golf outing in Morrison’s
memory and invites Chamber members to participate. The
Michael Morrison Memorial Golf Tournament at Scioto
Reserve Golf & Athletic Club will begin at 10 a.m. on
July 9 with a shotgun start. Admission includes a
continental breakfast, lunch on the turn, a dinner
buffet and entry into skill competitions and door

The staff of the
Hyatt Place Columbus Worthington, local
dignitaries and company executives celebrated the
hotel’s grand opening on May 20 with a ribbon-cutting
ceremony, reception and tours of the stylish design and
high-end amenities offered by Hyatt Place. Pictured

The Columbus Worthington location has 124 completely
renovated guest rooms and public areas featuring flat
screen TVs, free Wi-FI access, Hyatt Grand Beds®, a
self-registration kiosk, coffee and wine café, and other
amenities. Hyatt Place will host the Chamber's new
member breakfast on June 19.
Ky Baylor has been appointed area manager of
MT Business Technologies Inc. The company is now
offering a new electronic document and file solutions.

Account executive John Dorgan is the Chamber’s new

Rosemary Ebner Pomeroy, attorney at law
(left), has been elected to the board of governors of
the Columbus Bar Association. In other news, Pomeroy is
seeking another small business owner as a tenant to

Ste. 110, beginning Oct. 1. The total office space is
1,074 square feet and includes a kitchen, storage space,

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in
Worthington is scheduled for June 13-14 at McCord Middle
School. During the 18-hour community event, teams of
people walk the track, participate in games and
activities, eat great food and have lots of fun and its

from the 2007 Greenwich Associates’ Business Banking
study. Huntington was named a national winner for

Tom Ellis (right), president of
Tom Ellis Insurance Services and a trustee of
the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce, was named
Military Veterans (MilVets) Trustee of the Year on May
16 by the Military Veterans Educational Foundation. The
foundation, formed 21 years ago by veterans, supports
the Veterans Day Parade each November in downtown
Columbus and a luncheon held each May before Armed
Forces Day. Ellis has been a trustee of MilVets for 10
ten years and treasurer of the group for the past eight
years. His military experience includes service in
Vietnam as an artillery officer serving as a forward
observer and fire direction officer with units of the
famed 196th Light Infantry Brigade (part of the Americal
Division). More than 800 veterans, dignitaries and
guests attended the awards luncheon, where the featured
speaker was Brigadier General Christopher T. Cline, who
is the assistant judge advocate general for military law
and operations and practices law with the Worthington
firm of Blaugrand, Herbert and Martin.
