Member-Focused Committees
Membership Development
Membership growth is essential in order to create
more opportunities for members to do business with other
members while maintaining the vitality of the
organization. The membership development committee develops and implements a
number of strategies to increase membership and involve
current members.
The committee also works to sustain a membership organization
through the
retention of members. The committee focuses on
providing services of value to existing members and
ensuring that members are involved so that retention is
maximized. The committee also researches new member services
and programs and makes
appropriate recommendations to the Board of Trustees.

Ambassadors
The Chamber’s Ambassador Program is one of the most
important programs the organization has to assist new
members in meeting their membership expectations.
Ambassadors help introduce new members and others to the
Chamber and assist them in taking full advantage of
business development opportunities available to them. In
addition, the program provides. Ambassadors with a
meaningful way to meet potential business customers and
build strong relationships with other business people.
The Ambassador team is composed of up
to 20 members. Members represent diverse categories of
members businesses, and there is one Ambassador from a
category. Ambassadors may serve up to two years.
The Ambassador Program is one of the
most prestigious programs of the Chamber because
Ambassadors are representing the organization to new
members and others new to the Chamber. Ambassadors
understand how to build good relationships with others
and care about helping others reach their goals. They
must have a good understanding of the organization and
the programs and services it offers members.
Ambassadors are effective
communicators and demonstrate good written and verbal
communication skills and telephone skills. They have
good organization skills, which are needed to manage
from six to 10 new members accounts over a six-month
period of time. Ambassadors must be able to spend at
least two hours per month fulfilling Ambassador duties,
have regular attendance at Ambassador meetings and
attend a least one Chamber networking event a month.
