John Butterfield, Director
Emeritus
John Butterfield retired from the
Chamber in March 2008, after completing 11 years as executive director.
In honor of his exemplary leadership, he was named
director emeritus by the board of trustees in
January 2008.
John oversaw the growth and development
of the organization from 360 members at the start of
1997 to more than 700 members in 2008. He expanded
the Chamber’s services to members and fostered an open,
fun-filled, dynamic culture that is focused on the
success of members.
Throughout his tenure as the
Chamber's leader, John was energized by Chamber members and
gained satisfaction from helping them make connections
with one another that developed into strong business
relationships.
Involved in the community for more
than 30 years, John served as assistant to the
superintendent of the Worthington Schools for 24 years.
He was also a Sharon Township Trustee for 12 years and
currently serves on Worthington City Council. He has
served or is currently serving on the boards of a number
of community organizations.
Over the years, John has been
recognized for his community service and leadership. He
is a recipient of the Leadership for a Lifetime Award
from Leadership Worthington,
Worthington Schools’ Key Communicator Award and Civic
Leader Honors from the Dublin-Worthington Rotary Club
and Worthington JayCees.
John and his wife, Mary, live in
Worthington. They have two grown daughters and three
grandchildren. He continues to attend
Chamber events and to support our organization and the
business community with enthusiasm and dedication to
success. |
